Inaugural Flight to Singapore - 29 Aug 2012

On 29 August, Dru 2012kair commences her inaugural flight to Singapore. The official flight was graced by Her Royal Highness Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck, Lyonpo Nandalal Rai, Lyonpo Om Pradhan, Mr Tandin Jamso (CEO of Drukair) and 40 other officials from various ministry, Drukair and officials from the tourism related industries.

Drukair Domestic Flights to Bumthang & Yonphula

On 19th Dec 2011, Drukair begins operating the domestic routes from Paro to Bumthang (Central Bhutan) and Yonphula (Eastern Bhutan). This service will significantly save travellers whm wish to explore the span of East-West Bhutan up to 3 days of driving time. The total time required to reach the eastern most airport of Yonphula, which is about an hours drive to Trashigang is only 2.5 hours giving Drukair time to pick up and drop off travellers in Bumthang.


Bhutan-Singapore to establish air links

Bhutan and Singapore will establish an air services agreement (ASA) next week, according to the department of civil aviation (DCA). Drukair plans to operate to Singapore twice a week from March next year, according to the airline’s commercial manager, Tshering Penjor. But he said that this would also depend on when Drukair is able to acquire a third airbus jet. Drukair will also have the rights to operate to Singapore through Kolkata, India and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
