Drukair Introduces the Pilatus PC-24 to Strengthen Bhutan’s Air Connectivity

Drukair is pleased to announce the arrival of its newest aircraft, the Pilatus PC-24, at Paro International Airport on 27th November 2025. This addition marks an important step in enhancing Bhutan’s aviation capability and expanding the national airline’s specialised service offerings.

Manufactured in Switzerland, the PC-24—also known as the Super Versatile Jet—is an eight-seater light jet designed for exceptional short-runway performance. Its ability to operate safely and efficiently in challenging terrain makes it ideally suited to Bhutan’s unique mountain environment. With a range of approximately 3,300 km, the aircraft further improves Drukair’s operational flexibility and regional reach.

The aircraft will support a wide range of national priorities, including corporate travel linked to the development of the Gelephu Mindfulness City, enhanced emergency response operations, and mission-specific charter services.

The PC-24 was welcomed with a traditional chipdrel ceremony at Paro International Airport, attended by Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, senior government representatives, Druk Holding and Investments, Drukair management, and officials from Paro International Airport.

The induction of the PC-24 reflects Drukair’s continued commitment to strengthening Bhutan’s air connectivity, improving service capabilities, and supporting the country’s broader development goals.
